Philosophy
on Education Administration
Time is consistantly an issue with administrators. In the interest
of time I have condensed my philosophy down to a list.
- Flexibility
You can compromise to achieve a decision without compromising yourself.
- Clear communication
- We are what we do, not what we say.
- Listen.
- Decisive decision making
- Ends ARE the means. Respect must be part of the process.
- Consistency is important.
- Creative
What gets rewarded gets repeated.
- Innovative
- Sometimes the "new" way is the better way.
- Value your own contribution.
- Visible and accessible leadership
- Leadership is about action, not position.
- Students, faculty, staff as well as other stakeholders must understand
the vision and the expectations placed on them.
- When placed in charge, take charge.
- Solid individual
Understanding my strengths is as important as knowing any weaknesses.
- Vision
I know where I want to lead.
- Sense of Humor
Sometimes the best thing to do is just laugh!!
As a teacher my focus is enabling students to reach their potential
As an administrator and instructional leader, my focus will be to enable
staff - teachers, support staff, etc. to reach their highest potential
in
enabling students.
